The MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) is offered by the AAMC and is a required exam for admission to medical schools in the USA and Canada. IMO the “diagnostic” should be used to familiarize yourself with the pace and overall format of the exam, while also giving you a rough idea of where you stand.Welcome to the BEST place for MCAT prep and practice materials. Not the end of the world if you mix and match between different tests, but subtle inconsistencies in style & logic could throw you off. As someone else mentioned, most people prefer to save their AAMC FLs until the end because those are the most representative. It’s common to feel immense time pressure on the diagnostic, which again is not conducive to benchmarking your ability to solve problems.ģ) I strongly believe that people should take as many practice tests as possible, but the progression matters a ton. ![]() If you haven’t even studied the content yet, you don’t give yourself a chance to meaningfully apply that content.Ģ) For most people, the timing of the various sections is also something they need to actively work on - especially CARS. ![]() As is the case for any exam, there is a significant difference between knowing and applying concepts. A few thoughts as to why:ġ) AAMC practice tests are valuable in the sense that their “logic” is most similar to the real thing, especially more recent versions such as FL 5 (the free scored one).
